Shelagh Vida works in a variety of media, though mainly in oils and charcoal. She is inspired by landscapes, both rural and urban; fascinated by colour, texture, scale, and how the light changes so rapidly.

Shelagh makes sketches and colour notes whilst working, focusing on mark making, directly in the landscape. These sketches and memories are then translated into paintings in the studio.
