Richard Lawrence is a sculptor and printmaker based in Deptford, South East London.

Richard’s practice centres on carving and constructing in wood, to which he has recently introduced elements of colour. Drawing has always been fundamental to his work; however, this two-dimensional aspect is now primarily expressed through his printmaking, particularly woodcuts.

A strong sense of narrative runs through both his sculptures and prints, reflecting a deep concern for the environment alongside a longstanding fascination with animals and the natural world.

Richard has completed a number of public commissions and has participated in international symposiums and residencies. He continues to exhibit widely.
