Carol Edgar & Richard Dickson: “Abstract Earth” | 3-12 July, 2026
Earthly forms adopt otherworldly appearances in these delicate paintings and ceramics.
Carol Edgar is a painter based in Brockley, South East London. Her semi-abstract acrylic paintings are inspired by the majesty of the Cumbrian landscape and the rugged beauty of the Cornish coastline.
Edgar captures the essence of her subject through colour, texture, simple forms, and broad gestural brushstrokes - often using collage, carborundum, and random marks as a starting point. The process can be organic and unpredictable, the result often unexpected.
Richard Dickson is a Greenwich-based artist who creates ceramic sculpture and wheel-thrown forms inspired by nature and the human body. Through varied finishes, textures, and organic shapes, his work explores movement, tactility, and the connection between physical form and the natural world.
Exhibiting together in the serene heath-side space of Gallery White Box, Edgar and Dickson conjure a world both familiar and alien, ethereal and tangible, in a show that needs to be experienced in person to be truly felt.
