History, memory and imagination converge in these abstract works on paper. Encounters with the sixteenth-century tapestries and valley gardens of Cotehele House in Cornwall, together with the mesmerising architecture of the Mezquita in Córdoba, Spain, serve as key sources of inspiration. Rich colours and soft blending techniques create depth and atmosphere. Traces of human presence emerge not as static remnants of the past but as living sources of meaning. In a sense, these works imagine what painting may have looked like had Abstraction existed long ago. Viewers are invited to experience layered histories in new and unexpected ways.
