The gallery and art studio of painter, filmmaker and curator Aleksandra Niemczyk presents exhibitions of Blackheath, London and international artists. Situated opposite Hare and Billet Pond on the southwest corner of the heath, we invite you to drop by and enjoy our latest exhibition as an art lover or collector, or to pick out a unique gift.
Through groups and solo shows, artist residencies, pop up installations, open studio events, art workshops and more, Gallery White Box presents contemporary, vibrant, relevant and sometimes unconventional voices. A bijou exhibition of kinetic sculpture
by
Phineas Harper & Rachel Karasik.
Phineas Harper and Rachel Karasik’s sculptural work shares an evolving interest in connection. Loops, links and chains cascade throughout both their practices taking form as delicate hung compositions in Harper’s mobiles and weighty, tactile sculptures in Karasik’s ceramics. This summer show at the White Box Gallery in Blackheath Village brings Harper and Karasik’s work together for the first time, celebrating movement, connection and shaking off the chains of the past in search of a more hopeful future.
Rachel Karasik is a ceramics artist based in Hastings, UK. She holds a BA in Criticism, Communication and Curation from Central Saint Martins, and an MA in Anthropology of Food from SOAS. She started working with clay as a creative outlet to help recover from burnout after nearly a decade working as a chef. Her work plays with absurdity and themes of protection, history, and fragility of both ourselves and the systems that surround us.
Phineas Harper is an architecture critic, curator and sculptor. They are a regular contributor to the Guardian Opinion section, a member of the Design Council Homes Taskforce and former Director of Open House Worldwide. Their work has been exhibited in the Royal Academy, Somerset House, The Rotterdam Biennale, San Mei Gallery and Host Gallery. They trained at the Welsh School of Architecture and live in the Vanbrugh Park Estate with two cats, Alvar and Kaspar.

Vibrant program of art exhibitions and very helpful expertise for anyone who is looking for an art piece for their collection.
